On the audiobook front I finished Daggerspell, by Katharine Kerr and am already 50% into Darkspell, by Katharine Kerr.

For physical books my progress has continued with the slow trend that most of November has seen. Still reading Rosewater, by Tade Thompson and am kind of stalled out lately on The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan. Just not spending as much time with a book in my hand lately.

Finished Amberlough, by Lara Elena Donnelly. I thought it was just ok. There were a couple of times it annoyed me. The last third or so picked up a bit, enough to upgrade my opinion of it overall. Very undecided on picking up the next book in the series.

Finished My Best Friend’s Exorcism, by Grady Hendrix. Nothing amazing but it was a fun, easy read.

Now I’ve started The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan and The Fisherman, by John Langan.

Still working on The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan, Rosewater, by Tade Thompson, and Daggerspell, by Katharine Kerr.

Last week I said I wanted to try and finish 2 of them by this point, but it was another lackluster week of reading. Only read about 50 pages of Rosewater to get a little over half way through it. Made it through another 20% of the audiobook of Daggerspell so I'm about 2/3rds done with it. Didn't pick up The Gray House at all so still sitting at 20%.

So for this week I'm only going to make it a goal to get back on track with my normal reading routines more so than any specific amount of the books. Though with Wed-Fri without work, we'll see if I can do more.

Just started Metro 2033, by Dmitry Glukhovsky. So far it's okay, but I've only read about 80 pages so I can't say that much yet.

Otherwise I'm reading The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan and Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë. I'm forcing myself to go slow through Gray House, to really immerse myself in what's happening and to not miss anything. I don't really like any of the characters in Wuthering Heights, maybe that will change as the story unfolds.

Started A Memory Called Empire, by Arkady Martine.

Currently reading The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan and The Fisherman, by John Langan.

Finished The Fisherman, by John Langan. Good horror story that's well written but a bit awkwardly delivered and starts off as a slow build. The extended backstory sandwiched in the middle of the current day events was a little rough from an execution stand point though it did mark the point where the book goes from a more normal story of getting over grief of lost loved ones and then brings in the meat of the horror. Made the experience feel slightly disjointed though. Still a book that did more right than wrong and the mythos is interesting.

Still making slow progress on The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan. Though it's been relegated to just a couple of chapters a week at this point, only around the 20% mark.

Started and about a third of the way through Rosewater, by Tade Thompson. The world has certainly caught my interest.

Started and about 10% into Daggerspell, by Katharine Kerr.

Haven't done a ton of reading lately so still working on The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan, Rosewater, by Tade Thompson, and Daggerspell, by Katharine Kerr. Making it a goal to have at least 2 of these finished by this time next week.

Finished Slade House, by David Mitchell and After Atlas, by Emma Newman.

Started The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan. Still working on The Priory of the Orange Tree, by Samantha Shannon.

Slade House was an interesting horror story concept involving people visiting an odd house and then never being seen again. Broken up into 4 or 5 sections where the narrator is the person visiting the house.

After Atlas was a mystery story continuing in the universe of Planetfall, not directly related but several things and people to connect the two. Nothing hit me/stuck with me quite as much as Planetfall but it was still a good story.

Finally finished The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan. Not my kind of book at all, really struggled to be interested. I feel like I need to read it another couple times just to really get a good grasp of what all happened.

Read The Ballad of Black Tom, by Victor LaValle. Decent story. Characters could have been a bit better.

Currently about a quarter into A Memory Called Empire, by Arkady Martine and 30% into The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, by Stuart Turton.

Started The Gray House, by Maryam Petrosyan. As a fan of ”weird” books, this book has not disappointed so far (about 100 pages in).

Finished Women as Lovers, by Elfriede Jelinek. It felt like this book would have benefited from being a bit shorter.

Currently reading: The Gray House, by Maryam Petrosyan. I love the feeling I get when reading this, I want to move into the House.

Metro 2033, by Dmitry Glukhovsky. About halfway through, and getting a little tired about hearing about scary tunnels.

Wuthering Heights, by Emily Brontë. Haven’t read this in over a week so it might not count as ”reading”.

Finished The Priory of the Orange Tree, by Samantha Shannon and read Monstress Vol 3: Haven, by Marjorie Liu.

Made some progress on The Gray House, by Mariam Petrosyan but only about 20% into it so far.

Priory was really good. Multi-POV fantasy involving dragons and mages/witches with a quick pace to it. It fits a lot into it's ~850 pages.

Monstress continues to be just ok in my mind. Will continue with the series but feeling a bit let down for how much hype it gets.

Finished:

Metro 2033, by Dmitry Gkukhovsky. It was a bit repetitive at points, but overall I enjoyed it. The dystopian metro system was described well.

Currently reading:

The Gray House, by Maryam Petrosyan: still like it a lot, excited (and dreading) to see what the House has in store for the last part.

The Obelisk Gate: second part of the Broken Earth trilogy. I LOVED the first part, so I'm very excited about this book.
